Renovation MFH Segantinistrasse, Zürich

2009

The apartment building on Segantinistrasse in Zurich was raised in the course of total renovation and upgraded to the Minergie-P standard with a prefabricated new building envelope. The complete new building services are integrated in the prefabricated wooden elements, which were placed in front of the existing exterior walls.

The project
The work To improve the energy efficiency of the facade, all balconies and projecting window jambs were cut back flush with the facade. The prefabricated new facade elements were then attached in front of these.

The construction
In addition to windows and blinds, these also include the entire new building technology as a novelty. The new balconies were rebuilt as self-supporting steel-concrete structures in front of the facade. This object has won a solar prize in 2010.
