Timbagroup Holding AG is delighted to welcome its new employee Dr. Bettina Franke. She will take over the management of marketing and research at Timbagroup with its five companies Timbatec Holzbauingenieure, Timber Structures 3.0, Scrimber, Timbase and Timber Finance. Welcome Bettina! We are delighted to have you join our group and the marketing team with your wealth of expertise!

Studies and professional career

Bettina Franke completed her studies in civil engineering at the Bauhaus University Weimar in 2000, specializing in structural engineering. From 2000 to 2008, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Timber and Masonry Structures at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in teaching and research. In 2008, she completed her doctorate in the field of timber engineering on the evaluation of the load-bearing capacity of beam notches. She continued her academic career at the University of Auckland in New Zealand and at Bern University of Applied Sciences until 2023. Her focus is on connections in timber construction, quality assurance through monitoring or the consideration of moisture behavior in wood. In addition, she has established herself in the organization and implementation of international specialist events such as the 4th International Conference on Timber Bridges, the 10th INTER meeting or within the framework of S-WIN "From Research to Practice".
