Career start into professional life

Selina Regamey, Phil Fehse and François Gross have successfully completed the BSc in Wood Technology bachelor degree program this summer. On Friday, October 20, 2023 they were allowed to receive their well-deserved diplomas for graduation at the BFH Architecture, Wood and Construction, Bern. We are proud of you and congratulate you on your graduation. Goodbye BFH - Welcome to professional life!

Muriel Althaus completed a Master's degree in civil engineering at ETH Zurich and did an internship in a Zurich engineering office during her training. She also worked as an assistant at the ETH. We are delighted to have Muriel on our team and look forward to working with her to realize forward-looking and challenging timber construction projects.

We are especially pleased that all three talented newcomers will remain with Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG as competent engineers. François: The corporate culture is geared towards cohesion, dynamism and professional well-being! I share the same values as the company and this allows me to give meaning to the work and the objectives we have set ourselves. How do you feel about the work-life balance in our company?

Selina: Very flexible and individual working hours possible. As long as the absence is in the Outlook, everything is OK 😉.

Phil: All employees have the freedom to lead their own work-life balance. Part-time as well as home office is trendy in the company. Several team days a year bring variety and refreshment.

François: The company is very flexible in terms of working hours when it comes to time dedicated to the personal pursuits of its employees. Team days are organized several times a year, and this fosters relationships between colleagues!

François: ... to always have the same "smile" when I go to work! I am enthusiastic and hope to gain a great deal of expertise in timber construction and then pass this on to help the industry.



What aspects made you decide to apply to Timbatec?

Muriel: Wood as a future-oriented and innovative building material, which is currently undergoing a lot of further development. The interesting projects, the pleasant team size and the good location.

What role does wood play for you in this context?

MurielFor me, wood is a material that can offer forward-looking and progressive solutions in the construction industry. As one of the few renewable building materials, I see timber construction as a construction method with a lot of potential, both structurally and in terms of design.

Focusing on my professional future, in 10 years I would like to ...

Muriel: ... continue to drive interesting projects forward as part of the Timbatec team. In particular, I want to further develop my knowledge of timber construction through exciting exchanges with colleagues and pass it on to the next generation of timber construction engineers. Last but not least, it is important to me to find meaning and satisfaction in my work as an engineer.
