The project
The project by EMI Architekten AG, in collaboration with Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG, stood out for its consistent use of an eco-friendly hybrid timber construction method.
High-quality materials, attention to interior design details, and a well-thought-out, sustainable, and resource-efficient construction method in accordance with Minergie-P-Eco ensure the well-being and comfort of the residents.
The strategic use of wood not only gives the buildings a high-quality aesthetic appeal but also underscores their commitment to sustainability.
The construction method
The hybrid construction method combines concrete floor slabs with frame-constructed facade elements that incorporate load-bearing glulam columns. This approach fully leverages the synergies between wood and concrete to maximize cost-effectiveness.
The rear-ventilated facade cladding was also designed as a combination of vertical and horizontal wood formwork.
The challenge
The high architectural and technical requirements for the facade cladding also called for precise and meticulous detailed planning.
