Lukas Rüegsegger at the Bau+Energie trade fair in Bern

Lukas Rüegsegger, Managing Director Timbatec Bern Branch, will speak at the Bau+Energie Messe in Bern about tenders for public buildings with Swiss wood. In this presentation the basics for public tenders according to GATT/WTO will be explained on the basis of practical examples.

Building with Swiss timber is the trend: the domestic building and raw material scores with ecological arguments, jobs and regional added value. This is also a good argument for public buildings. 

However, public procurement legislation under GATT/WTO prohibits a direct requirement for a specific origin. Nevertheless, there is a certain amount of leeway to be able to rely on Swiss timber for public buildings as well. 

These possibilities will be presented using two concrete examples as part of a specialist presentation block at the Bau+Energie Messe Bern. These presentations are aimed at public and private builders, members of building commissions, representatives of municipalities and authorities, architects, planners, timber construction engineers and timber construction companies.
