The motion "Research and innovation of wood as a material for use in infrastructure construction as a contribution to decarbonization" was adopted in the Council of States and the National Council. The task now is to replace reinforced concrete with CO₂-storing materials such as wood in infrastructure construction. Timbatec is looking forward to this exciting task and is happy to support the federal government.

For the Tech Cluster Zug, researchers from ETH Zurich are building a planted architectural sculpture together with Müller Illien landscape architects, Timbatec and other partners. The 22.5 meter high structure consists of five geometrically complex wooden shells and is currently being produced by robots at ETH.

The «Timber Finance Initiative» focuses on wood against climate change. Timber Finance wants to become the Swiss competence center for sustainable timber investments and thus connects the timber construction and finance industries. The startup, based in our offices in Zurich, was co-founded by Stefan Zöllig, among others. We wish you a good start.
On 17.11.2021 Timbatec Salon was held in the recently completed apartment buildings Alszeile. In the last moment before the lockdown, numerous guests attended the lectures and the tours through the building. We would like to thank the non-profit «Bau- und Siedlungsgemeinschaft Familienwohnbau», Riepl Kaufmann Bammer Architektur and Strobel Holzbau for the successful event.
National Councillor Erich von Siebenthal and Thomas Lüthi from the Initiative Holz BE presented the certificate to the president of the municipality Christian Däpp last Friday. It proves: The Aeschi school is built from Swiss wood. The showcase project was already put into operation by the students in Aeschi last spring.
