Timbatec has been developing innovative products and applications since its foundation. One innovation is so promising that it was outsourced to a separate company: The TS3 technology.
TS3 connects wooden components at the front and thus realizes large areas in wood. The technology is the result of ten years of research and development by Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG together with the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel and the ETH Zurich. Today the technology is ready for the market and the first construction projects have been built with it.
TS3 takes timber construction to the next dimension
TS3 is the technology for large-area timber construction and column spacing up to 8 x 8 metres. This makes large buildings and extraordinary architecture made of wood possible.
Skeleton structure of wood
The large column grid makes TS3 a real alternative to concrete – for residential, industry or public buildings.
Build high-rises
Thanks to the vertical load transfer through the columns, TS3 is the ideal construction method for timber high-rise buildings.
8 x 8 meter column grid
With TS3, floor slabs support in two directions and span to columns on an 8 x 8 meters grid.
Versatile
Structural changes are simpler to implement than with concrete or conventional wooden structures.

Climate friendly and local
Wood construction is more environmentally friendly than concrete: Wood stores CO2, it grows locally, and transport distances are short.
Speed of construction
Unlike concrete, wood structures do not require drying time. This speeds up construction and brings a quicker return on investment.
